In a previous Lakers4Change post, we exposed that school board candidate Smith was alongside a group of volunteers that chalked WOKE on two district building walkways, Bridges ALC and the District Service Center. Following that post, one of Smith’s biggest supporters, former WOKE PLSAS school board director Michael Nelson, made a post of her own claiming that this was an attack on Smith and condoning the chalking of political ideology on district property.
What is even more interesting is that there is rumor that this very post is what Smith was so worked up about when he approached Jon Conlon at a recent football game. Almost like he was upset that he was outed as a WOKE and progressive candidate vs Jon Conlon as a Common Sense candidate.
Jon Conlon has focused on a clear vision for our district from the beginning and has not changed his goals. He has a strategy that he is confident will help our district make its way back to the top both academically and fiscally, while still maintaining the vision of the community represented by our strategic plan. All while keeping the focus on where it matters most, our students and their teachers.
