Prior Lake Chamber of Commerce is hosting a forum tonight at 6 – 7 pm to hear directly from school board candidates Jon Conlon and Dustin Smith.
Jon Conlon, a father of three in the district, will share how his professional experience as a CFO managing billion dollar budgets and his extensive family history of serving in Minnesota education, including a grandfather that served as President of the MN School Board Association, has prepared him for a seat on the Prior Lake-Savage Area School Board.
Dustin Smith, father of two kindergartners, will share how an HR professional of a nonprofit and teacher union backed candidate plans to use his limited experience to help make important decisions for Prior Lake Savage Area Schools, including a school closure with boundary changes, improving dire academic proficiency and implementing the community written strategic plan.
Smith is often witnessed using the word “grassroots” to describe his campaign while knowingly receiving an enormous amount of support from the local teachers union.
True grassroots support comes from groups of individuals like those that volunteer with Lakers4Change. There is no BIG union money or BIG union manpower behind this group. We are just a bunch of parents and community members dedicated to getting common sense back on the school board.
CFO vs HR
Common Sense vs Emotion
