That’s a wrap!

One week of brushing off late summer nights and sleeping in. One week of getting kids on the bus, morning drop offs, new schedules, schools and teachers. One week of adjustments and what better way to finish off the week than a Laker Football Game tonight at Dan Patch Stadium! #BEATTHESABERS #GoLakers We would love to hear about your first week of school! The good, the bad and the exhausting (parents, we feel you). Comment below if you would like to share! GO LAKERS!

Keep the momentum going!

We have already gotten an incredible response to the School Board Candidate Town Hall events hosted by Lakers4Change at Prior Lake City Hall on the evenings of Tuesday, September 13th and Tuesday, September 20th. Almost half of the spots available have already been reserved. Thank you to all of you that have submitted an RSVP for one of the events and thank you for sharing your “most important topic that you would like discussed.” These suggestions are incredibly helpful! If you haven’t RSVP’d yet, make sure you do soon. We want to hear from you and we want you to hear from the candidates. It is imperative that all candidates’ platforms are clear before voters head to the polls. Early voting begins September 23rd and we want you to feel informed. To find out more, RSVP or just submit your most important topic to be discussed by the candidates, follow this link. If you are unable to make it to the town hall event, make sure to subscribe to get updates, we will be sending out the details on how to watch the live feed during these events. Lakers4Change

Lakers4Change to Host Candidate Forum at City Hall. All 9 School Board Candidates Invited to Participate.

Lakers4Change will be hosting two School Board Candidate Forums in the coming weeks. All of the candidates have been invited to participate in this event for both dates. There is limited capacity for the facility, so interested stakeholders are being asked to RSVP until that capacity is met. The forums will be live streamed and recorded for those who are unable to attend in person. The forum will include questions from the community, which are submitted through the RSVP. Registrants are asked “What is the most important topic you would like to see discussed at the candidate forums?” If you are unable to attend and wish to submit your most important topic, please let us know by contacting us here. For more information, or to RSVP for these events, check out the Candidate Town Hall page.

Whose Children are They? movie with guest speaker TONIGHT!

If you haven’t purchased your tickets for this amazing documentary yet, no problem, just visit the event page to RSVP. Find out why the division is worsening in our schools. Why there are more frequent, serious incidents in our schools, even though the number of reported disciplinary actions are declining. Why children are segregating themselves into categories and groups rather than learning to work together and respect each other. You don’t want to miss this!

What a Whirlwind!

Can you believe it’s Monday? Not to mention… AUGUST!! Summer is certainly flying by. Lakers4Change had an exciting week and an even more exciting weekend! From candidate endorsements to community outreach, there are just so many wonderful things going on and so many more to come! Friday, Lakers4Change hosted a game at the City of Prior Lake Coin Carnival and it was such a blast. The game chosen was a classic and after a couple years of society being worried about having enough toilet paper, who wouldn’t want to play Toilet Paper Toss?! (no toilet paper was harmed or wasted in the playing of this game) A special thank you to Bill Markert, 2022 PLSAS school board candidate, for volunteering to help run the game. Three hours of nonstop fun and pure joy from children when they made the roll into the seat, were cheered for and won a prize… was absolutely priceless. What a great way to start the weekend! Thank you to our volunteers and all of the parents that brought their children to this amazing event. We are getting a lot of great feedback and support from you and we appreciate every single bit. Please keep sharing our page and let us know what else we can do to help. We have a lot of activities in the books and would love more of you to join. If you are interested in getting in touch with our group, contact us! We love to connect with people in the community to hear how we can partner with YOU to make PLSAS even better!
